Clean out your closets and let your junk or arts and crafts become a fellow camper’s treasure. Set up and sell right on your campsite. A $10.00 set up fee will be charged in addition to the regular camping fee. This event is for registered campers only to sell. Great Siege of Boonesborough Guided Interpretive Walking Tours

Great Siege of Boonesborough Guided Interpretive Walking Tours – The First Saturday of each month, May through October – Come along on a guided walking tour of the original fort site and significant locations relating to the Siege. Visit sycamore hollow, the area of the Indian camp, the springs, the location of the treaty ground and Sacred Elm, and others. Additional dates may be added and tours for groups may be scheduled. The Kentucky Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive in the Recreation Hall of the campground from 10:00am – 4:00pm. All donors will receive a tee shirt, a gift and be entered into the door prize drawings for gift certificates from the park. Open to the public. Give blood and save a life! Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival 2014

The 36th Annual Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival!! The festival begins with a street dance on Friday evening and continues throughout the weekend with: Arts and Crafts, Talent Contest, 5K Run, and a Walk with Friends. The finale is the Sunday evening concert featuring nationally known country music entertainers. This year the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival will host Danielle Bradbery, Frankie Ballard and our very own Lauren Mink. Sunday Night Concert begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 for Adults. (Children 8 and Under – Free) (Parking at Lykins Park Only will be free) Tickets can only be purchased the day of the event at the gate. . Gates open at 4:00 pm. Open seating (hillside) first come, first served. Coolers, chairs and blankets will be permitted.
The Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival brings some 35,000 visitors to Winchester-Clark County. We are a non-profit organization and the main goal of our festival is to help civic, non-profit and academic groups raise funds. River Blast

It’s going to be a blast down on the Kentucky River when a new festival called River Blast, presented by Kentucky American Water, takes place at Fort Boonesborough State Park Saturday August 16 from Noon – 10 p.m.Organized by the Kentucky River Water Trail Alliance and benefiting Bluegrass Tomorrow and the Kentucky Riverkeeper organization, River Blast will include the “blast” component Fireworks, presented by the Kentucky Department of Adventure Tourism at 10 p.m., “Water Fire” a bonfire on the Boonesborough Beach beginning at 6 p.m., live entertainment all day with headliners Conch Republic (Caribbean) and Dublove (reggae).
The inaugural “Race Between the Locks” offers the public a chance to get on the river to canoe or kayak with a 6-mile “fun paddle” to Clays Ferry (beginning at Noon) or for advanced paddlers a 21-mile race to Valley View (begins at 8 a.m.) Prices are $50 per person for the fun paddle, $75 for the advanced race, includes refreshments, water, t-shirt, prizes, food, and canoes (if you don’t have your own boat).
A car show (antiques, hot rods & more), festival foods and concessions including a beer garden, river and water exhibits, arts & crafts vendors, kids activities, and fun for the whole family are also planned.
Fort Boonesborough is also celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Fort this year, and will offer a special $5 admission price to the Fort during this event.
The event is free and open to the public, however a $5 donation is suggested for parking.

A Christmas Carol

The Leeds Center for the Arts presents TNT’s  A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart on Dec. 6th  at 4pm and at 7:30pm.  Concessions will be open throughout the  Annual Downtown Winchester Christmas Parade serving up hot chocolate and other goodies.  This event is free of charge however all donations are appreciated.

18th Century Christmas at the Fort

12/5/2014 – 12/6/2014 – 6pm to 9pm – Visit the Fort to see and hear the differences in the holiday celebrations of the season during the early settlement of Kentucky. The Fort will be lighted by candlelight, with decorations in keeping with the traditions of the time. There will be Living History interpretations of the traditions of various ethnic groups and nationalities during the season. Candle lanterns, bonfires, the Christmas Guns, food and refreshments, music and dance, will all add to the atmosphere. Refreshments are included! This is a special program sponsored by the Fort Boonesborough Foundation. Admission is Adult/ $5 — Child (6-12)/$3 – under 6- free. Call the park at 859-527-3131 for additional information.

18th century merchants and traders in period clothing set up shops in the cabins and blockhouses of the fort. All items for sale are typical of items available in the 18th century. Fort opens at 9:00am each day. This is a great opportunity to do your 18th century holiday gift shopping! There is no admission charge for this event.
