Join us May 30th & 31st 2014 at the beautiful Kentucky Equestrian Center located in Winchester KY, where we will showcase Kentucky’s favorite breed in a (AA) High Points qualifying show.
Originating in Eastern Kentucky these horses have proven to be very versatile from the trail to the rail. These gaited Mountain horses will display a variety of performances throughout the scheduled classes.
From Trail Obstacles to the athleticism of the Park Pleasure Horse, you will find these horses to be highly entertaining to watch & participate alongside.
Please join us as we showcase this magnificent Kentucky Original in all of its beauty and at the 2014 United Mountain Horse Spring Fling.

Trolley Tours

Every year the Bluegrass Heritage Museum celebrates Preservation Month by offering trolley tours to historic homes and site sin and around Clark County. These tours have become very popular and fill up quickly, so be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible by calling 859-745-1358.
Tuesday, May 27, 2014 Travel back in time to the old Colbyville Tavern to enjoy a picnic dinner on the grounds and hear the history of the old home, which at one time was a stagecoach stop. Cost is $20.00.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED! All tours will leave the museum promptly at 5:30pm. Allow yourself plenty of time by arriving early.

BLOOD DRIVE

at Fort Boonesborough Campground
The Kentucky Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive in the Recreation Hall of the campground from 10:00am – 4:00pm. All donors will receive a tee shirt, a gift, and be entered into the door prize drawings for gift certificates from the park. Open to the public. Give blood and save a life! Spring Trade Days

Visit a social and business gathering of merchants, traders, artisans, Native Americans, militia members, long hunters, scouts, and other frontier characters. Listen to period music, visit camps, and shop for 18th century goods as you compare life today to 225 years ago. Go on a guided tour of the original fort site. Great Siege of Boonesborough Guided Interpretive Walking Tours

Great Siege of Boonesborough Guided Interpretive Walking Tours – The First Saturday of each month, May through October – Come along on a guided walking tour of the original fort site and significant locations relating to the Siege. Visit sycamore hollow, the area of the Indian camp, the springs, the location of the treaty ground and Sacred Elm, and others. Additional dates may be added and tours for groups may be scheduled. “Touched by the Fire”– Blacksmith’s Weekend

Charcoal Burn begins 9/29/2014. See and learn about an ancient craft kept alive even to this day! Join a group of blacksmiths including Randy Wolfe of Bethel Forge as they demonstrate projects and techniques, trade ideas and information, swap tall tales of the forge, and also offer hand forged items for sale. The process of making charcoal in the 18th century will be interpreted all during the week. Blacksmiths are invited to bring along their portable forges, start up a fire and join in! Find answers to your questions, and maybe try your hand at a simple forging project. You can also go on a guided tour of the original fort site and Siege battleground.
