Aristocats Kids Summer Workshop
Aristocats Kids Summer Workshop! Ages 7-12
Everybody wants to be a cat! Join us for two weeks of fun-filled singing, dancing, and acting, while working to put on a fully staged production of Aristocats Kids! Students will have the opportunity to audition for a role, learn musical skills, learn choreography, and come together to create an amazing show!
Camp begins on June 20, 2022 and will run for two weeks with performances on July 1 @ 7:00PM & 2 @ 7:00PM. This is an all day camp Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Camp Information and Safety Protocols
Covid Safety
If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms before camp or upon arrival – fever of 100.4 or above, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell – please notify Leeds immediately and keep your child at home.
Masks are currently required to be worn at all times.
Drop Off/Pick Up
All participants must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
Campers may be signed in in the lobby of the building starting 10 minutes prior to the start of their camp. If someone other than the parents/guardians on file plan to pick up your camper, please let our staff know.
What to Bring
We ask that participants only bring the following:
- 2 full water bottles
- A pre-made lunch and a snack. No nuts please! No one will be allowed to leave the building.
- Pencils
- Dress in comfortable clothing.
- Masks are currently still required.
Costumes
Leeds will provide most costume elements, however we may ask you to send your child in a particular color “base layer” for their performance (ex. green top, black leggings). Parents/guardians will be informed of any costume recommendations with ample time to plan, and there is no expectation of having to purchase costume pieces. However, investing in a pair of jazz shoes is strongly encouraged!
Camp T-Shirts
Camp t-shirts will be available for pre-purchase on the Eventbrite Page and pickup on the first day of camp. The choice of whether or not to purchase a shirt is up to you!
Performances
This camps will culminate in two live, ticketed performance July 1 & 2. All active Covid mitigation guidelines will be strictly enforced. Friends and family are welcome to attend performances! All audience members must purchase tickets and at this time audience members must present proof of vaccination or negative test result not older than 48 hours. The test must not be a home test.
Financial Aid
Leeds Center for the Arts Financial Aid program is based solely on need. Due to great demand and limited resources, it is important that you provide us with your complete financial picture for full consideration. Financial Aid is awarded in 15%, 25%, or 50% tuition waivers. The form is due two weeks prior to the first day of class and does not guarantee a spot in the class.

Musical Theatre Intensive
Grow your skills in singing, dancing, and acting, with Steve Crosby and Ellie Miller, as well as professional guest artists from around Central Kentucky. The final showcase will feature unforgettable characters and songs from our very favorite Broadway shows. Campers will have the opportunity to explore musical and acting solos, duets, and group numbers. High-caliber dance, as well as vocal and acting training all culminate into a fully staged production.
Camp begins on June 6, 2022 and will run for two weeks with a performance on June 17 @ 7:00PM. This is an all day camp Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Waiting: A Staged Reading by Patrick Mitchell
Join us for a staged reading of a new play by Patrick Mitchell.
Dr. Keith Griffith; practicing Psychiatrist awakes from a dream to find a new set of patients wandering into his office. While helping to reevaluate their lives he has to take a look at his as well.
Patrick Mitchell is an artist from Lexington, KY. Celebrating over 40 years in the business. Performing the last 20 years On and Off Broadway in New York City. He has had several lead roles ranging from Malcolm X in “The Meeting” to “Othello”. He has worked with such established companies as Nicu Spoons Theater in “No Niggers, No Jews, No Dogs”, New Perspective Theater in Anton Checov’s “The Cherry Tree” and The famed Billie Holiday Theater in Jackie Alexander’s “The Legend of Buster Neal” (which was nominated for an Audelco Award for best Ensemble and performed main stage at The National Black Theater Festival). Also, locally he has performed with AthensWest Theater “Fences” and performed in “Our Town” and “Outside Our Doors” at Leeds Center for the Arts.

This six week class will help you perfect your technique!
Dates: Saturdays from April 16th to May 21st from 11:00 AM -12:00 AM.
Tuition: $100.00
Ages 8 and up.
At this time all students will be required to wear a mask during class.
Tap Class: BEGINNER
Join us for an introductory tap dance class, taught by Jackson Becker!
This six week class will tech all the basics of tap!
Dates: Saturdays from April 16th to May 21st from 9:30-10:30.
