Hey everyone! It’s almost time for our 6th annual Oopsies & Oldies Sale Event at Dirty South Pottery! Much like 2020, things may look a little different for this event than in years past – make sure you read all the details below to know what to expect.
First off: What is Oopsies & Oldies? Simply put, it is the ONLY sale that we at Dirty South Pottery run every year. It is where we put our slightly imperfect, a little old, and one-off pieces of pottery all out for sale – at highly discounted rates.
Why go? Because even though some items are not up to our normal high standards, most items are just slightly warped or cracked – or maybe nothing is wrong with them at all, they are just old! All issues are indicated with the placement of the discounted price sticker, and if you have any questions on why a piece is discounted you can ask one of our team members. This is a great time for us to clear out our back stock and for you to stock up on handmade pottery. Win-win
Changes in 2021: In years past, we have had between 30-60 people waiting in line outside when we open, leading to a rush of people inside at once. Last year we switched things up to allow folks to sign up beforehand for their shopping time – a tradition that worked so well that we plan on using it for years to come!
Sign ups for appointments will be released to our newsletter list on Friday July 2nd, and then released to the public on Saturday July 3rd. You can sign up for our newsletter at
www.dirtysouthpottery.com – scroll down to the gray box on our homepage & enter your email.
We will be limiting the number of shoppers to 12 at a time, shopping in 30 minute increments. Masks will be required for this event, regardless of your vaccination status. *Please note* Every human being that is inside the store will be counted as one of these 12 and will need a ticket – this includes children, who are welcome to come with their own reservation alongside an adult with a reservation.
These 30 minute increments will allow you to have time to shop our wares with less of a crowd, and you will be able to sign up for multiples if you want more time.
IMPORTANT: Each person will need to sign up separately. This means that you will need to make sure you know who will be shopping with you on the day of the event so you can all register for the same time slots. If you are signed up, but your friend has not, they will not be able to shop with you.
RSVP & check our discussion posts for photos of this year’s items and info on what to look for when shopping our seconds!
