When it comes to food, you cannot judge its quality by where it is being created and served. We’ve been given food at fine dining establishments that looked and tasted bland, flavorless, dry, etc. In contrast, “hole in the wall” restaurants in Kentucky are where some of the best food known to humankind can be found. Over the decades, I’ve learned never to shrug off small or simple establishments, and I’ve not been disappointed. We previously wrote about tiny restaurants that will wow you, and here are 12 reader suggested restaurants to add to that list.
6. JK’s Café on 4636 Old Boonesboro Road in Winchester
This is a great place to stop in for breakfast, a sandwich or dinner plate. The Old Rock Barn Reuben and the Hot Brown Burger sandwich is melt in your mouth delicious. The breakfast plates will remind you of a family sit down for a big country breakfast. The menu is on the wall and the specials really are special in a good way. Also, they have Ale 8.
